Lusk and Beyond

The lovely thing about a bus trip is that it affords an enterprising priest ample time to write. Having been on the road some three or four hours, the pilgrims still appear to have plenty to talk about, and have yet to reach that lull during which everyone takes a nap.

As I write we are about thirty miles beyond Lusk, where we stopped at the rest area, which is now equipped with a playground.  This is a rather significant development for a town like Lusk.   The next stop is Cheyenne where we will eat, and from there proceed to Denver.  Spirits are high, and the anxieties that marked our teary departure from Rapid City seem to have abated. So, we're off to a good start. Here's a few pictures from the playground.

  2. Almost twenty years ago, 650 pilgrims from the Diocese of Rapid City stopped in Lusk at the rodeo grounds for a picnic lunch of Subway on their way to WYD '93 in Denver. This brings back memories. God bless you on your pilgrimmage. We'll be praying for you!
